THE third edition of the NMB Monthly Mug golf tournament is set to tee off at the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) Lugalo Golf Club course today.
Club captain, Japhet Masai said in Dar
es Salaam yesterday that over 50 players are set to battle it out for
the title in the different categories. He said preparations to host the
tournament are complete.
“I would like to inform all golfers and
welcome them to take part at the third NMB monthly mug event June 25
(today),” he said. Masai said that the event is open for both men’s
Division A, B and C, seniors, ladies and juniors.
He said that professional golfers are
also invited to take part at the 18 holes stroke play tournament. The
captain said this month event is sponsored by NMB, who are the main
sponsor, while First Assurance of Dar es Salaam are co-sponsors.
“This month’s monthly mug will also
include a special junior’s competition to be sponsored by Mr Kain
Mbaya,” he said. To make it special, Masai said that ladies golfer
Mariana Mugo will also provide golf-shirt to all junior golfers. He said
that entry fee to those wishing to take part in the tournament is
10,000/- with dinner and drinks inclusive.
“We are looking forward to host as many
golfers as possible to make it a success,” he said. Masai said that
hefty prizes await winners in different categories including cash money
for professional golf winners.
